Meet Nurse Leoma

I am delighted to be your Faith Community Nurse! It is my belief that life is short and we must give and care for each other when we can.

“Help each other with your troubles. When you do this, you are obeying the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2

I am married to a great person and have two wonderful children: a son who lives in Phoenix with his beautiful wife and two grandchildren and a daughter who lives in California. For 31 years, I’ve been in the medical field. I achieved my Bachelor’s degree from GCU and my Associate Degree from Maricopa College. I recently retired from Banner Del Webb last August. After retiring, I did find I was missing a big connection with helping people. I have an enthusiastic gift of caring for the mind, body, and spirit. I am totally impressed with the friendships and caring members of the church. I am grateful to have such a great caring staff.

Please contact me if you would like to get involved in Desert Palms' health ministries or if you have any questions.

Caregiver Support Group

Caregiving is a blessing and a burden. If you are caring for others in your home, at a facility, a neighbor or a loved one that lives far away, please join our Caregiver Support Group. This group is a warm and caring time where you can share your story, find new ideas and resources and be cared for. We meet every month in person and on Zoom. Please contact Nurse Leoma for more information.

Meals of Joy

Caring for DPPC members and the community is part of our mission. A challenge for many in our faith community is having access to nutritious meals during health or life challenges. When these life challenges occur, making time for meal preparation all but disappears for those involved. As a faith community, we can tangibly give care to our community members journeying through these transitional seasons in a simple and yet profound way: through the gift of a meal.
