Worship Volunteers

To host worship that glorifies God our best should always be given. It takes many volunteers to provide for an excellent worship experience. We are always looking for volunteers in the following areas of responsibility.

Sanctuary Angels

These individuals find time once a week to clean a section of the Sanctuary. The pew racks are cleaned and the books and resource in each pew rack are refreshed.

Ushers

Available on Sundays to pass out bulletins as they greet worshipers, ushers provide an essential service which leaves a good first impression on members and guests. Ushers also take the offering and tidy up the pews in their section once worship is complete. Instructions are available. Most volunteers usher for a month of Sundays at a time, though there is flexibility.

Greeters

The primary duty of the greeters is to smile and sincerely welcome members and guests to worship. Greeters can answer questions and direct those coming to worship to the person who has the answer to his or her inquiries. Some new members have told us that it was the friendliness and care of the greeter that encouraged them to return to or join Desert Palms Presbyterian Church.

Coffee Servers

Prepare, serve and clean up in regards to the coffee which is served between services on Sunday mornings. Instructions are provided and coffee teams working together makes the tasks more enjoyable

Prayer After Service

After each service, once the postlude is concluded, prayer volunteers make themselves available in the front of the sanctuary for those seeking prayers. Congregants are invited to come forward with a brief concern or the excitement of a joy in that person’s life. Those who have volunteered to pray lift the joy or concern up to the Lord in a succinct and powerful prayer.
