PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

UPDATE FROM PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

2019 will be a great year for this group. Along with shawls and prayer squares, we are widening

our horizons.

The past year we supported Del Webb with Baby Blankets, Baby Caps and Chemo Caps; also Caps for children and adults for Dysart Community Center and the Grade School at Wittman, Arizona.

A new Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery Project has been started and we are asked to support the “Blankets of Peace” for the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations in South Dakota.  We are knitting and crocheting blankets in their sacred colors of the Oglala Lakota Tribe, which are red, yellow, white and black.  It is a true blessing for our group to be part of this.

We must not forget our Veterans and Military for which we present shawls for the fallen and/or injured. This is done through the United States Prayer Shawl Ministry to which we belong.

This shows how we are busy with this ministry and very proud to see it again in many different areas this year.

Come join us -- 3rd Wednesday of the Month, from

12:30-1:30 p.m. in Room B.

Happy Knitting to all - Carole Jean Soine, Leader
