A Chance to Help

Do you miss reading to your grandchildren? Would you like to help a child learn to read? Dysart community center has these and other new opportunities for volunteers.

1) ESL students can now join a  conversational English class. This helps the students practice the fine art of conversation in a safe and comfortable environment. This is a group class, but there is a need for volunteers to assist.

2) The regular ESL program, teaching a student one on one to speak and read English, is ongoing.

3)    Reading to children or helping them learn to read is done after school.

For more information or to sign up for any of these programs call Sylvia Huntsman at 435-896-3641.

Dysart community center serves many students throughout the West Valley Community with ESL, GED, citizenship, mobile food pantry and youth and teen education programs. Their mission is to empower children and youth, teens and adults with the tools and skills necessary to improve their lives and build self-sufficiency. This is a great opportunity for us to be a part of this effort.
