The books we will review will be as follows:

Women in the Castle book 1

Women in the Castle, by Jessica Shattuck 

During WWlI a group of men plan to assassinate Hitler. One of the wives of the group promises to take care of the families if they fail. Through all of the hardship, there are glimmers of hope and joy.


The Chilbury Ladies' Choir 1

The Chilbury Ladies Choir, by Jennifer Ryan

Because all of the men are at war, the Vicar decides there will be no more choir. The women take charge and the choir without men persist and becomes a prize-winning choir.


Beneath a Scarlet Sky 1

Beneath a Scarlet Sky, by Mark T. Sullivan

Pino, an Italian teenager, joins an underground railroad helping Jews escape over the Alps. Pino's parents force him to enlist and he becomes a driver for one of the Nazi's important officers.
