Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; know, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.                                                                                                                                Matthew 7:7-8

We should be called “Busy Bees” instead of Angel Bees because that’s what we have been!  We made just over 100 quilts this year!  What have we done with our quilts?  Well, I’m glad you asked!  Here are some of the places they have gone:

We made enough quilts so that every child on the Angel Tree age 6 or under will receive one!  That’s about 50 quilts!  We’ve “wrapped” each quilt in a fabric Christmas sack that we also made.  We’re working to see if we have enough to expand the age of 7.  (I bet we will be able to do it!) We donated one to the Cancer Relay for Life.  This is an annual event close to the heart of a couple of our members.  The quilt will be auctioned to raise money for cancer research.

We have given some quilts to the Teen Mom’s group – Young Lives.  The Director came and talked with us in October.

We have had a few where a donation was given for a quilt.  An orbit designed quilt was for an autistic son who loved it immediately!  Another sweet quilt was for someone’s granddaughter as a gift for her “Adoption Day”.  I’ve heard it called the “Gotchya Day”.  Either way it was special - look at this sweet picture of her with her quilt!

There is so much need for young ones to have a quilt that is only theirs, to feel special, and to wrap themselves in it.  If you know of an organization for children or a place that might be good for us to work with, let us know!

We’re “off” through the Holidays, so our next Angel Bee sewing day will be on January 18th at 9:00 – 2:30.  Come see what we do!

Stay safe during the Holidays!
