How are we doing?

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 (NLT)

April Showers bring May Flowers

Did you know that the entire saying actually goes something like this: “March winds and April showers bring May flowers and June bugs.”  April isn’t typically a rainy month across the United States, and flowers begin blooming a lot sooner than May in parts of the Country, so where did this saying originate?  It turns out it came from the United Kingdom, where it can be pretty soggy in the spring!  I think it’s actually more of an idiom--everything that happens, happens for a reason.

We have been so busy and incredibly blessed by some of the “flowers” we received in April!  We have received a lot of material from quilters who have decided to put their “stash” to good use, and from another who wants to get involved, and another yet who heard about the work we are doing!  We also received a cutting table!  (For you non-quilters, it’s a table that is at the right height so we don’t stand in awkward positions when cutting material--it really helps us not strain our backs!)  We’re going to work on putting together a list of things we need, so if you’re looking for ways to help, check back next time!

There was also a group of about 8 of us who ventured our way to Sun City for an Estate Fabric Sale--they had thousands of yards of material for sale at an excellent price!  We had fun going through the boxes of material and picking out what we needed and because we were buying so much, any of the small pieces, they gave them to us!

Sign up for our next Angel Bee sewing day--Saturday, May 18,  9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.  Even if you don’t sew, come help us sort, fold or iron!  Sign up at our Angel Bee booth on Sunday mornings, or contact Charlene Weir .

Enjoy your May flowers…..and stay clear of the June bugs!
