Immerse Bible Reading Experience

The Immerse Bible Reading Experience offers a vibrant, transformative relationship with God and others through his Word. Each week, transparent community happens in Bible Reading Groups, where participants share their observations and questions based on their immersion in God’s Word. These warm and inviting group experiences set the table for life-changing Bible reading.

Immerse is built on three core ideas: reading a naturally formatted Bible, reading at length, and having unmediated discussions about it together. By simply reading and then gathering once per week in “book club” style groups, you will have a place to voice you questions, talk about your concerns, and celebrate “aha!” moments.  Each Immerse experience is designed to take you through a significant portion of the Bible in eight weeks.

The Reading Bible is a six-volume Bible created with one goal in mind: to provide the best reading experience possible. The text is laid out in a beautiful single-column setting with chapter and verse numbers, section headings, and footnotes removed, and with the content of each book displayed according to its literary genre.

As your church reads through this new Bible, they’re invited to talk about it in a new way. Once a week, community groups will engage in “book club” discussions, simply talking about what they’ve read in honest, unmediated conversations. It’s intentionally uncomplicated. There are no DVD curricula and no workbooks. Instead, your church will talk through questions like, “What stood out to you this week?” or “Was there anything confusing or troubling?”

Learning from the Great Courses

Monday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. (3 p.m. the first Monday of each month) in the Conference Room. The class will start up again in mid-October through April. It will be led by Wayne Walker and Norm Fiet.

This year we will look at two subjects:

  1. The Emperors of Rome starting with the great Augustus. Included in this course will be Nero, Caligula, Claudius, Tiberius and Marcus Aurelius.
  2. We will also look at the relationship between Religion and Violence. What is there about religions that cause violence? We have two outstanding lecturers lined up--experts in their fields.
