  • Adult Bible School will be held Monday, September 20 through Thursday, September 23 at 5:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, with Dr. Grayson Carter giving four lectures based on Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Dinner each of the four nights is included. Tickets are available to purchase for $40 in Fellowship Hall after service, or during the week in the Church Office. You may also reserve a seat for the lectures, without meals, for no cost. You will need to register so we know how many to expect.
  • Are you interested in becoming a member of Desert Palms Presbyterian Church? The Outreach Committee will be setting a date in October for prospective new members to gather and learn more about the Desert Palms church family.   • Fitness Fun: Join this group for a fun morning of fellowship and movement. The class includes strength, cardio and balance exercises led by Coleen Burke, fitness instructor. The class meets on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 7:30 am and 8:45 am. Sign up online through our DPPC website or call Mary, Faith Community Nurse at 623-584-4602 ext 209.   • Cardio Drumming Fall Session begins Monday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m. Cost: $35 for the 7-week session. If you would like to join the class, call the church office or come to class on Monday morning.
  • Caregiver Support Group--Caregiving is both a blessing and a burden. If you are caring for others in your home, at a facility, for a neighbor or a loved one that lives     far away, please join our Caregiver Support Group. We meet Monday, Sept 13          at 1:00 p.m. in the Conference Room.
  • Low Vision Resource Gathering--Do you or a loved one live with a vision challenge? Join the Low Vision Resource Group. We meet this Wednesday, September 15  in the Fellowship Hall at 10:30 a.m. Presentation: Tips from An Occupational Therapist on Living with Vision Challenges, by Jane Willis, DPPC member and retired Occupational Therapist.
  • DPPC Flu Shot Clinic--When: Wednesday, October 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Where: Conference Room. Vaccinations administered by Rita, Pharmacy Manager at Sun City West CVS. Call the church office to sign up for an appointment time.
  • AA and Alanon meet in Rooms A and C every Monday, at 7:00 p.m.

Summer Survivor Movie Nights: Sign up for Movie Night–Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 5:00 p.m. This will be the last of our Summer Survivor Movie Nights. The name of this month’s movie will be announced soon. Please stop by the table to sign up!

Adult Bible School: Will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 through Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Tickets are available for $40 in Fellowship Hall. This includes all four lectures, as well as dinner each evening.

Angel Bees: Lean more about their quilting ministry.

Drinking Habits 2: Stop by to sign up to be part of the DPPC group going to see this theatrical production at the Stardust Theatre on Sunday, October 24 at 2:00 p.m. Steve & Vicky Johnsen, DPPC members, who are in this play have reserved a block of tickets for the DPPC. Tickets are $12.50 and will be available for purchase starting on September 19

Presbyterian Women: Our Bible study books have arrived and will be sold in Fellowship Hall starting Aug. 1st following church service. Checks are preferred, payable to DPPC PW (with “study book” in the memo line). Cost is $11. Large print books are $16 and must be ordered.

Volunteer Opportunities: Come learn about how to use your gifts in service. We also currently have a special need for people to sign up as coffee servers.


PRAYER REQUESTS: Requests may be placed in the offering plates or brought to the Church Office. The requests will be given to the Prayer Group who will hold them in their prayers.

PRAYER CHAIN REQUESTS: Please contact the Church Office if you know of someone who has immediate prayer concerns. Call Marty Mohler at 214-1260, Bev Weaver at 544-8951 or Jan Carlson at 544-1348 for immediate prayer support through the Prayer Chain. Specific details are not required. If you are interested in becoming a part of this special ministry, contact Marty Mohler. In case of an emergency evenings or weekends, you may call 623-693-3681.

Also, please let a hospital representative know that you give your permission for them to contact us if you are admitted in the hospital.  

We seek to be effective and consistent in our pastoral care. That care is dependent on members notifying the church when either they or a family member enters the hospital.
