Desert Palms Presbyterian Church Raises $4,400 for St. Mary’s Kids Cafe Program through Super Bowls against Hunger collection

St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance would like to salute the members of the Desert Palms Presbyterian Church for their continued support of St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance’s Kids Cafe program. That support continues with a check for $4,407 raised through the recent Super Bowls against Hunger event.

One in four Arizona children are food insecure and Kids Cafe seeks to bridge that gap by providing late afternoon meals to supplement the school breakfast and lunch programs during the fall, winter and spring and to provide an important meal during the summer when those other options aren’t available.

Bill Cummings of Desert Palms presented St. Mary’s President and CEO Terry Shannon and Surprise volunteer coordinator Jan Wells with the check at the Kids Cafe production site in Surprise. Combined with moneys they collected during their adult Vacation Bible School last summer, the church has donated more than $6,500 to support meals for Arizona’s hungry children.

Thank you Desert Palms Presbyterian Church, wonderful supporters of St. Mary’s and the fight against childhood hunger in Arizona!
