CROP WALK
"We walk because they walk"
Each year some 2,000 communities across the U.S. join in locally organized, interfaith CROP WALKS that help support the work of Church World Service both around the world and here at home. Some of the funds from each walk stay local for charities in town and the rest goes to help victims of disaster and help to feed the poor and hungry of our world. The walks are one to three miles.

CWS/CROP Walk a Success!

The Soul Sisters send a big thank you to those who donated, solicited donations, and walked in the Annual CROP Walk held February 21. We can again be proud that Desert Palms contributed more than 50% of the total collected and 50% of the walkers; 18 Desert Palms members and friends enjoyed the one and three mile walks.

The 2010 total donations received were $5,107. Our church members and friends’ donations totaled $2,646. Last year's total for Desert Palms was $2,391 out of $4,429 raised. The Valley View Community Food Bank will receive 25% of the total raised this year, with the balance going to CWS's war on hunger.

Thank you to all who participated and worked for this worthy project. Good job everyone.
