Turkey Day
Saturday, November 17, 8 AM - 12 PM

Turkey Day is a special day in the life of Desert Palms Presbyterian Church. Turkey Day AA That’s the day--the Saturday before Thanksgiving--when members of the church and community come together to provide more than 200 frozen turkeys, nonperishable food and cash for the hungry and underprivileged of our area.

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, many of us are making plans for that special day.  Some will have dinner in the dining room of the residence in which they live.  Some will celebrate with family and friends.  Some will eat Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant. Some will come to Desert Palms for Thanksgiving dinner. In any event we can all look forward to a meal for which we thank God, who provides all things.

As members of Desert Palms, we cannot solve the problem alone, but we hope that with God’s help we can dig deep and increase what we contributed to last year’s Turkey Day.  The money, food and turkeys we provide will go to the two food banks that we support--Agua Fria and Valley View.

What a good way to double the thanks in Thanksgiving!  We can enjoy the meal we have and give thanks that many less fortunate people will have food for which they can be thankful.

Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another

with whatever gift each of you has received.  1 Peter 4:10
