Gentle Reminders to Live a Healthy Life

Our lives are a complex, interconnected web of many dimensions. I recently shared the Church Health Center Model of Healthy Living with the Stephen Ministers and thought that it might be helpful to you too. The model is a tool for individuals to look at their lives and evaluate where an individual may be out of balance. It also provides an opportunity to weave the practice into the fabric of our churches and communities. The model recognizes the relationships between the many parts of our lives and provides a tool to support individuals in having balance and satisfaction in their lives. When one area is out of balance, it affects the other areas of your life.

We all need gentle reminders to live a healthy life. I invite you to consider the 7 dimensions of Faith Life, Medical, Movement, Work, Emotional, Nutrition and Family and Friends in your own life.

Living in Life

If you are interested in completing a self-assessment using the model, stop by the Health Ministry table to pick up a copy or go to https://chreader.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Model-for-Healthy-Living-Assessment-Wheel.pdf.  In an upcoming newsletter, I will share thoughts on each of the dimensions.

In John 10:10, Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

May you find abundant living in each and every day.”

Blessings,

Mary
