BETANIA CHURCH IN PHOENIX
Pastor Gonzalo Ramos, who came from Columbia to head the church in Phoenix, took time from his own congregation to meet the members of Desert Palms at the Mission Fair and to express gratitude for our prayer and monetary support for their Hispanic church mission efforts. Like us, they have a big heart for missions. Three other members came with him and showed photos from their December outreach trip to Puerto Penasco in which they participated. They took singing, prayer, Bibles, blankets, as well as toys and candy for about 200 children in Puerto Penasco. The families there construct homes with whatever they can find upon a patch of sand without even streets or addresses.
Much of Betania’s money for missions comes from food that they prepare in their little kitchen. They have been saving to pay for improvements for the kitchen. Desert Palms Mission Committee designated some funds to help them last year and hopefully will be able to add some more money this year. Like most church kitchens, it is used constantly.

At the Mission Fair they were happy to meet with the Compañeros en Misión people who had come up from Mexico to attend our fair. Also, they were happy to meet Susie Ortiz from Dysart Community Center. We are all brothers and sisters, and united can accomplish more than separately. We can help enable all three mission endeavors to do what we can’t do alone—and make our funds stretch further. Their love for the Lord and his people is warm and strong. Blessed be the tie that binds our hearts.
