Lovely, exquisitely soft, and comforting, a prayer shawl can ease the pains of grief, terminal illness, or a major operation. Prayer shawls are given not only to church members but also to relatives and friends of church members. Many recipients have found their way to our churches through the loving outreach of this program. 
The prayer shawl ministry is one of the functions of Presbyterian Women started in 1998 nationally, and in November 2005 at Desert Palms. They meet once a month and after prayer and a Bible verse, dedicate a newly knitted or crocheted shawl telling where it comes from and why it was knitted. A card is enclosed saying We understand that you are _______ and want you to know that we are praying for you.
