Arizona Charitable Tax Credit

Arizona Charitable Tax Credit

Gifts to Arizona charities may qualify for a tax credit for up to $200 (for individual tax filers) and $400 (for joint tax filers) under the Working Poor Tax Credit program offered by the State. Several charities supported by Desert Palms are eligible: Benevilla, Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona, Homeward Bound, New Life Center, St. Mary's Food Bank, Salvation Army, Valley View Community Food Bank, and others. A listing of the qualifying charitable organizations is available in the Church office.

This tax credit is in addition to the School Tax Credit for gifts to the Nadaburg Schools and Dysart Schools.

Some forms and information will be available during Fellowship Hour, December 11, and in the Church Office. To qualify for the credit, you must itemize your deductions on the Arizona State income tax form. Be sure to consult with your tax advisor for more complete information. The Arizona Department of Tax Revenue web site is:

Also, for donations and volunteer work hours for Habitat for Humanity, there are many companies who offer a matching gifts opportunity. The offer is available by many of the companies for their retirees as well as current employees. A listing of the companies who offer the matching gifts is available in the office and will be available during Fellowship Hour, December 11.
