Desert Palms Receives Major Gift for Endowment
Major gift will benefit Scholarship Endowment and newly established Maintenance Endowment.

The Endowment Committee announces that Desert Palms has received a donation of fifty percent interest in a house located at 13210 Serenade Circle, Sun City West. The house has an appraised value of $225,000.

The donor, Edie A. Criner, a resident of San Jose, California, was an affiliate member of the congregation. Edie grew up in North Carolina, attended the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) and spent his working business career with AT&T and Apple Computer. Life circumstances have reduced the frequency of his trips to Arizona and he decided that it was time to dispose of the property and its contents. His hope is that others will follow his example in the future.

Our job as a congregation is to sell the property and then invest our proceeds, per the donor’s wishes, equally in the Scholarship Endowment and the newly established Maintenance Endowment. If you know someone from a northern climate who wants a lifestyle change, please contact the church office to get an early start on this process. Once a description is available from a realtor it will be available in the church office.

Desert Palms expresses extreme thanks to Mr. Criner for this generous donation that will benefit our scholarship students and the church campus for years to come.
