Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry at Desert Palms A Ministry of Compassion and Caring

“When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,’ your love, O Lord, supported me.” (Psalm 94:18)

God gives us support through our Christian brothers and sisters. Let us all be sensitive to one another’s needs and take the time to support each other through prayers, phone calls, friendly chats after church and even visits. Also, remember that we have Stephen Ministers who are available to offer their support. For more information, please contact Pastor Linda at  623-584-4602.

“You are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” (2 Corinthians 3:3)

When we belong to God’s family, we look for ways to serve others as Christ has served us.  Are you looking for a way to serve?  Stephen Ministry could be just what God has in mind for you!  A Stephen Minister is a trained lay member of the congregation who will visit with their care receiver weekly, listen, pray with and for them and offer Christian love and respect. They are caring supportive Christian people who have a desire to be present in a time of need, grief or crisis.

Stephen Ministers will tell you that through a caregiving relationship, God brings forth new life and renewed faith in both the care receiver and the Stephen Minister. Through Stephen Ministry training, you will gain insight into the thoughts, feelings, and actions of people who are hurting; and you will develop relational and caring skills you can apply to all aspects of your life.
