Pentecost : Coming Soon

Wear red to celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and give to the Pentecost Offering to show care for coming generations.

This Offering provides a broad range of programs to nurture young people and children at risk. It supports a broad range of opportunities for our young people to forge deep-rooted connections to God, to the church, to experience serving others and being served.

Remember, 40% of the offering from Desert Palms Presbyterian Church stays here to nurture the children we choose to help.

YOUR GENEROUS GIFT SUPPORTS OUR MISSION AND OUR CHILDREN’S FUTURE.

Pentecost Touches All of Us

On the day of Pentecost we celebrate God’s gift of the Holy Spirit which draws us together as one people. The Holy Spirit helps us to comprehend what God is doing in the world and empowers us to proclaim in word and in deed God’s plan of reconciliation of all people in the name of Christ.

Without the gift of the Spirit, Christ’s church dries up and withers away and we are left with only our broken selves. With the gift of the Holy Spirit all things are possible. A spirit-filled community of faith opens eyes to the needs of the world and sees its mission as God’s new people.

In this special celebration we are given the opportunity to touch the lives of youth and children at risk around the world and at home. The offering given on Pentecost Sunday is divided 60% to Presbyterians working with young people around the world and 40% stays here to support special children’s programs.

Use the Pentecost Offering envelope in this issue of The Palms or get one from the pew rack in the sanctuary. This is important work! Please give generously.
